Does UMP replace my CMMS?
No. UMP is a system of proof, not a system of work. Your CMMS/EAM remains where work happens. UMP adds portable, verifiable proofs that any counterparty can check.
What standards does UMP use?
UMP uses W3C Verifiable Credentials 2.0, JSON Web Signatures (JWS), did:web for issuer identity, and GS1 GIAI for asset identification.
How long does integration take?
Verify-only integration takes hours. Export-on-close (CAMP-style) takes days. Full offline capture integration takes weeks.
Is my data stored on a blockchain?
No. UMP uses AWS QLDB (an append-only ledger) and optional transparency logs. You get tamper-evidence without public chains or tokens.
Can I use UMP without an internet connection?
Yes. The issuer app works offline and syncs automatically when online. Credentials are issued and anchored when connectivity returns.
Who can verify my maintenance records?
Anyone with the passport link. Verification doesn't require logging into your systems or creating an account.
